Out in the UK now and US on March 26
The mistress. The Wife. Each has her own story.
Chloe, bright hip and single, is a features editor with ambitions to launch a magazine of her own. When she meets her potential new boss, she knows she shouldn't mix business with pleasure, but finds it impossible to resist...
Maggie appears to have it all. She's beautiful, a talented writer, and has a gorgeous husband. But something's not quite right: his job as a magazine publisher is keeping him in the city until late most evenigns, and some nights he doesn't come home at all...
Told in alternating voices of the mistress and the wife, this story of an affair is a sharp, seductive take on modern love. Who, if anyone, comes out unscathed?
'British novelist Rayner has a talent for turning domestic tragedies (widowhood, infertility and, in this latest, adultery) into something quite special - amusing and astute studies in human resilience... An engaging, insightful portrait of infidelity, told with charm, Rayner plays it just right in the war zone of love' - Kirkus Reviews
A wickedly funny menage a trois' - Cosmopolitan Magazine
'Compulsive enough to have you walking into lamp posts' - Company Magazine
'A highly promising debut novel...The Other Half is an insightful take on this increasingly common situation. For anyone who has either been a wife or a mistress, The Other Half will certainly ring true. And for anyone who's been involved in a secret relationship, or is even considering an affair, this novel should be compulsory reading' - Heat Magazine
'An all-too-likely tale of marriage and infidelity' - The Express

About this book
The Other Half and Getting Even were first published in the UK by Orion in 2001 and 2002. Since the success of One Moment, many readers have asked how they can get hold of these titles, and for a few years they were out of print. But in 2012 Sarah spent several months rewriting both novels, in 2013 Picador UK published these new versions as ebooks and print-on-demand. Even more exciting, the Other Half is available in the US bookshops this March.
Sarah says, 'I am delighted my readers now have the chance to discover these books, and if you're keen to do so, I'd recommend you opt for these new editions rather than second hand paperbacks of the originals, as I believe they're hugely improved as a result of my rewriting and updating them and are totally right for now.'
